Shifty Fitness Update
It’s been a couple months since an update, and I’ve got some good news. Things are working.
I haven’t lost as much weight as I’d like, but I know that weight isn’t the biggest factor. Though my weight has stayed pretty stagnent around 210 pounds, what I have lost is fat! Muscle weighs more than fat, so even though my weight didn’t change, I gained muscle! Read the rest of this entry »
CrossFit Foundations – Day 7
Today was day 7 of my CrossFit Foundations class at CrossFit Magnus. So far I’ve done a number of exhausting exercises. Today was no different.
The morning workout consisted of reviewing KBSs (Kettle Bell Swings) and K2Es (Knees To Elbows).
These aren’t too bad. In fact, I’m sure they’re very helpful and fun to do.
The end of the class was learning to do Prowlers. These suck. But they work your thighs like crazy, but kill your lungs!
The class kicked my ass, but I’m getting stronger!!!
Starting CrossFit
Tuesday this week, I listened to Jesus and I started CrossFit at CrossFit Magnus off Belmont here in Portland.
So far I’ve just started by taking the fundamentals class and it hasn’t been terribly difficult. Sure, I’m a sweaty afterwards and my body feels stronger, so I think it’s working. The off days I’m quite sore and again, signs that things are going in the right direction.
I decided to jump into CF after talking to a number of friends who are doing it and have had great results. My big goals are to gain muscle and lose fat. I’m not terribly worried about losing weight itself. I just want to replace my fat with muscle and get my body into a sexy shape.
Here’s hoping the next 10 sessions are excellent!
